The most important words Jesus spoke were, “Follow me,” and in a divided world, we can follow him by taking the high road—valuing all people, giving more than we take, embracing authenticity, and placing people above our agenda. Jesus’ actions and teachings, especially in the Sermon on the Mount, show us how to love our enemies and bring people together. By immersing ourselves in his life, we can be inspired to live as he did, becoming salt and light in a world that needs it.
